The Monkey Sanctuary is a privately owned, non-subsidised sanctuary, covering approximately 7 ha, situated alongside the elephant sanctuary in one of the many kloofs of the Magaliesberg mountain range. Monkey Sanctuary in Hartbeespoort, North West Province is one of only eight free-release primate sanctuaries globally. Our primates are received on the basis of public donations, and supported by funding generated by our guided tours and sales of our curios. Primates, such as our squirrel, spider and capuchin monkeys, are given a new lease on life at Monkey Sanctuary. Previously raised as household pets, or bred for the pet trade, our monkeys are introduced to a wild world laden with waterfalls, lush vegetation, natural mountain springs and the chance to reside in as natural and environment as possible. Our goal is to give them the opportunity to live as they would in the wild. Monkey Sanctuary recognizes the importance of community education. Not only are our tours highly informative, but we strive to create awareness toward the benefit of releasing primates into sanctuaries such as our own. Guests leave our tours with the understanding that monkeys do not make good pets, and that they are better suited to a natural, free-living environment. We look forward to guiding you through our Sanctuary, and trust that you will enjoy the splendour of our natural environment to the fullest.

Our Most Popular Daily Scheduled Trip Cape Town has one of the best locations to see the Sunset from the Sea. With the Atlantic Ocean stretching away from the majestic Table Mountain range, this is certainly a ‘must do’ cruise for locals and tourists alike. Toast the setting sun from the deck of one of Waterfront Charters amazing range of vessels. A complimentary glass of Martini Prosecco (two glasses per guest) will be served, and the bar will be open for all other drinks for the duration of the cruise. Toast to the setting sun once more! Kids are welcome, and have a special price option. Cape Town weather can change five times a day, so our route from the harbour is not always predictable; the two options below are merely a guide. But no matter which direction we take be assured of a spectacular cruise. SUNSET UNDER SAIL The sailboat Serenity One follow the wind for this cruise. They do not offer a specific destination for this reason; you will be advised before departure as to the expected direction. The typical Cape Town summer wind blows from the south-east; the boats use the motors to leave the harbour and then they sail across Table Bay towards Milnerton lighthouse, returning to the protection of Granger Bay in the lee of Table Mountain to watch the sunset, and then motor back to the Waterfront. In the winter months with the northwester prevalent, the direction taken will be toward the Clifton Coastline, or the Robben Island Coastline, also returning to Granger Bay. The wind and sea conditions change daily so the routing and style of the trip also change to meet the conditions; the skipper and crew will give you the best possible adventure. SUNSET ON A MOTOR VESSEL The Motor Vessels Sea Princess and Southern Cross follow a different route to the sailing boats. As they are not dependent on the wind they offer a destination and normally cruise slowly along the Atlantic seaboard towards Clifton beach and then return. VARIATION TO CRUISE (DUE TO WEATHER) For all the vessels, when the seas are running too high or the wind is unpleasantly strong, instead of heading into Table Bay the destination is the Cape Town Harbour for a Harbour Lights Cruise; a perfect alternative offering magical views of Table Mountain and the lights of Cape Town and the harbour in the evening. In extreme conditions, the skipper will take every aspect into account, and even stay dockside to ensure the safety of the passengers . * In the unlikely event that the primary boat for this cruise is unavailable due to unforeseen circumstances, we reserve the right to utilize an alternative vessel for this experience. Be assured that Waterfront Charters will always make every possible effort to ensure that the advertised vessel is available. Some Cruises do not have a dedicated boat for the cruise and rely on a pool of available vessels at Waterfront Charters to cover fluctuations in weather, seasonal passenger numbers and planned maintenance.

The Champagne Cruise is our second last Cruise of the day and returns to Harbour prior to the Sunset Champagne Cruise. These pre-sunset Champagne Cruises are extremely popular as pre-dinner cruises. They are ideal for families who find the regular Sunset Champagne Cruise too late. Due to the fact that the Sunset Champagne Cruise departure times vary according to the season, the pre-sunset Champagne Cruises also have a variable departure time. Please check the schedule to ensure you are aboard before departure time. Toast Table Mountain and the sunset from the deck of a choice of vessels with a complimentary glass of local sparkling wine for adult guests (a glass per adult guest). A cash bar is available for other drink requirements, including soft drinks. Kids are welcome and have special pricing options. Cape Town weather can change five times a day, so our sailing route from the harbour is not always predictable. But no matter which direction we take, be assured of a spectacular cruise that gets you back to the V&A Waterfront in time for evening festivities.

Our Most Popular Daily Scheduled Trip Cape Town has one of the best locations to see the Sunset from the Sea. With the Atlantic Ocean stretching away from the majestic Table Mountain range, this is certainly a ‘must do’ cruise for locals and tourists alike. A complimentary glass of local sparkling wine (two glasses per guest, or a bottle for a couple) will be served, and the bar will be open for all other drinks for the duration of the cruise. Toast to the setting sun once more! Kids are welcome, and have a special price option. Cape Town weather can change five times a day, so our route from the harbour is not always predictable; the two options below are merely a guide. They do not offer a specific destination for this reason; you will be advised before departure as to the expected direction. "Our favourite!" The 2 hour Storms River Kayak & Lilo Adventure is our most popular adventure activity in Tsitsikamma National Park! If you are keen to explore deeper into the Storms River Gorge in Tsitsikamma, and experience the long, deep, quiet pools, then the Kayak and Lilo trip is for you! We paddle from the Harbour next to the small beach across the ocean, then under the Suspension Bridge and up the beautiful Storms River Mouth. Please note that if the sea is rough, you have to hike to the Suspension Bridge (along a boardwalked trail), where we then hike along the river from the suspension bridge up to the jetty to where you then get on onto your kayaks. This 1km hike takes about 30 min This is where the true Kayaking adventure begins - paddling the Storms River, the pinnacle of Tsitsikamma National Park. After waving to all the tourists photographing you from the Suspension Bridge, we continue the kayak trip up the Stormsriver. We paddle right into the bats cave and spend time gazing up at the magnificent and spectacular cliffs all around us, all from the comfort of our double sit-on-top kayaks. At the low-water point we disembark our kayaks and we jump on our unique Lilo's. (a Lilo is an inflatable mattress that we’ve had specially made for this trip). From here we walk and float over a short section of rocks and simply wade deeper up the river on the Lilo's. What a stunning view it is, laying on a Lilo at water level, and gazing up to cliffs that touch the sky! At reaching a certain point, we simply turn our Lilo’s around and float back down river to our Kayaks! ACTIVITY BREAKDOWN When the ocean is safe to kayak over the trip will involve in total: 10 minutes briefing, 20-30 minutes of ocean kayaking, 30-40 minutes of river kayaking, 40 minutes on Lilo and +/- 20 minutes Cliff Jumping, swimming and some time in between of just relaxing and enjoying the beautiful view. If the ocean is unsafe to kayak over, the trip will involve in total: +/- 40 minutes of hiking through the forest, 10 minutes of briefing, 30-40 minutes of river kayaking, 40 minutes on Lilo and +/- 20 minutes Cliff Jumping, swimming etc. as above. PLEASE NOTE: The kayak & lilo activity starts half an hour after the time slot booked for as it takes time to have the briefing (see above), be kitted out etc. Please see below link that will show you where we are located. https://youtu.be/4KkJRHX-mWQ?si=SruZyd63n3uM0KBU
